Three Arrested After Large Drug Seizure 

On 05-17-07 the Woodbridge Police Department arrested three (3) people on narcotic related charges following a two (2) month investigation. 

Based on information that originated with the Milford Police Dept, the Woodbridge Police Department was contacted by the FBI Task Force, and the Statewide Narcotics Task Force with information indicating that a Woodbridge resident may be receiving and distributing large quantities of marijuana.

The Woodbridge Police Department's Narcotic Enforcement Unit initiated and conducted an extensive two month investigation of the suspect residence located at 244 Peck Hill Rd.  This investigation developed additional information, which confirmed that another large shipment of marijuana was scheduled to be delivered to the suspected resident in Woodbridge, CT from North Carolina.  Members of the Woodbridge Police Department conducted surveillance of 244 Peck Hill Rd. 

As a result of the work of these officers ,the Woodbridge Police, with the assistance of the CT State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, executed a search and seizure warrant at the residence located at, 244 Peck Hill Road, Woodbridge, CT and subsequently arrested three (3) adults at the residence.

While executing the search warrant, officers discovered and seized a large amount of marijuana  in both a Coach Motor Home that was parked in the driveway, from within the residence itself, as well as from a detached garage. Officers also seized several firearms, a large amount of cash, cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia.  As a part of this investigation and seizure and based  the criminal enterprise of the transportation of this large amount of drugs, several vehicles were  seized.

“It was a joint effort between many agencies.  The assistance provided by the Statewide Narcotics Task Force was invaluable and their professionalism should be commended,” Woodbridge Police Chief Gene Marcucci said of this investigation.

 

Items seized include:

588 pounds of marijuana (estimated street value of $1.8 million dollars)

$102,040 in cash

13.8 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms

1.7 grams of cocaine

Various items of drug paraphernalia

3 handguns and 1 shotgun

A new custom Coach Motor Home

A Chevrolet Avalanche, and a Chevrolet Pickup Truck

3 Harley Davidson motorcycles.

 

People Arrested:

Edward Jevarjian, age 54, of 244 Peck Hill Rd., Woodbridge, CT

Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Sell, Possession of a Narcotic Substance.

Dennis Earl Thompson, age 54, of 153 Snow Hill Rd., Franklin, N.C.

Misty Lynn White, age 43, of 1111 West 10th St., Austin, TX

 

Thompson and White are charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Conspiracy for both of the above charges.

Thompson and White were detained in lieu of a $500,000 cash bond each, and were presented in New Haven Superior Court this morning. 

Jevarjian was released on a $200,000 bond and is due to appear in New Haven Superior Court on 5/31/07.
